(Ambassador Srikumar Menon)


Srikumar Menon, took up his assignment in Luanda as India’s Ambassador to the Republic of Angola on 10 May 2018 and presented his credentials to the Hon'ble President of the Republic of Angola on 28 June 2018.

Ambassador Menon is also concurrently accredited as India’s Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe with residence in Luanda.

Prior to current assignment in Luanda, he served as India's Ambassador to the Republic of South Sudan in Juba from July 2015 to April 2018.

He has served earlier in different capacities at headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and in Indian Missions in Muscat (Oman); Tehran (Iran); Khartoum (Sudan); Singapore, Warsaw (Poland) and The Hague (Netherlands).

His diplomatic assignments covered Political, Commercial, Consular and Cultural desks in Indian Missions. This also included a stint as Chargé d'affaires in Warsaw, Poland in 2009.

After having represented the Indian Mission at the Organisation for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, he returned to headquarters and was assigned work on the UK and Netherlands desk in the Europe-West Division from 2013 to 2015, before assuming his Ambassadorial charge in South Sudan in July 2015 and subsequently in Angola in May 2018.

Ambassador Srikumar Menon is married to Jayanthi and they have one son.
